The practice

A small practice that knows your business, not just your file.

GALAD Accounting & Tax was set up to give owner-managed businesses the standard of accounting support that larger companies take for granted: accurate records, deadlines handled without chasing, and an accountant who understands the business behind the numbers.

We look after the compliance work in the background so that you can get on with running the business, and we tell you what the figures mean when it matters, not twelve months after the fact.

Why GALAD

What working with us actually looks like.

You deal with your accountant

You are not passed between a queue of staff. The person who prepares your accounts is the person you speak to.

Deadlines are managed, not chased

We track your filing dates and come to you in good time with what is needed, rather than the week before.

Answers in plain language

You get explanations you can act on, without the technical language that makes accounting harder than it needs to be.

Confidential and secure

Your records are handled under strict confidentiality, with secure document exchange rather than email attachments.

Getting started

Three steps, no long onboarding.

The order matters here, so we have set it out in sequence.

Step 01

An initial consultation

A conversation about the business, where it is now and what is causing you difficulty. No charge and no obligation to go further.

Step 02

A written scope and fee

We set out exactly which services you need, what we will handle, what we need from you and what it will cost, before any work starts.

Step 03

We take it on

We collect your records, deal with your previous accountant if there is one, set up your filing calendar and get to work.

Business advisory

Beyond the annual accounts.

Compliance tells you what has already happened. Advisory work is about what happens next: whether the business can afford a hire, where margin is being lost, what the cash position looks like in three months, and whether the current structure still suits the business.

  • Cash-flow forecasts you can actually use
  • Budgets and variance reporting
  • Monthly or quarterly management accounts
  • Profitability and cost analysis
  • Business structure and remuneration guidance
  • Support with funding and bank applications

Questions

Common questions.

Do I have to be based in Dublin to work with GALAD?

No. The practice is based in Dublin and we work with businesses across Ireland. Records can be shared securely online and meetings held by video or phone where that is easier than travelling.

Can you take over from my current accountant?

Yes, and it is a routine process. Once you confirm in writing that you are moving, we write to your existing accountant for professional clearance and request your records, prior year accounts and tax filing history. You do not need to have an awkward conversation about it.

Which accounting software do you work with?

We work with the main cloud bookkeeping packages used in Ireland, and we can set one up for you if you are not using anything yet. If you already have a system running, we will usually work in it rather than move you off it.

How are fees worked out?

Fees depend on the size of the business, the volume of transactions and which services you need. We agree the scope and the fee in writing before any work begins, so there are no surprise invoices.

What do you need from me to get started?

For the first conversation, nothing at all. After that, typically your most recent set of accounts, your tax registration details, access to your bookkeeping records and, if you have staff, your payroll information. We will send a short list based on your situation.
